 Immunogenetics in Autoimmune Encephalitis

Sergio Muñiz-Castrillo is a trained neurologist specialized in autoimmune encephalitis and paraneoplastic neurological syndromes. Currently, Dr. Muñiz-Castrillo is a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University. He earned his MD from Universidad de Oviedo in 2009 and completed his neurology residency at Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid in 2014. In 2021, he earned his PhD in neuroscience at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1. His research focuses on the immunogenetic characteristics of autoimmune encephalitis, from genetic predisposition to the immunological pathways leading to the immune tolerance breakdown.
