Neurostimulation in Psychiatry 2023
The Neurex symposium « Neuromodulation in Psychiatry » that took place in Strasbourg last February addressed the personalization of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) in neuropsychiatry. Recent advances in NIBS techniques have demonstrated their efficacy in treating psychiatric disorders. They also showed some limitations, such as those intrinsic to the one-size-fits-all targeting and stimulation methods. It is thus necessary to take into consideration the heterogeneity of neuropsychiatric disorders in terms of targets and response to different stimulation protocols and technics, i.e., to enter into the era of precision / personalized medicine. This question was addressed along different axes.
The event included a theoretical part (conferences) and a practical demonstration (of Cobot, a robot for transcranial magnetic stimulation). It was accredited 7 CPs by the SSPP (SGPP).
Videos of the lectures may be visualized on line (internet link on request).
We would like to express our gratefulness to the organizers, Dr Jack R. Foucher & Dr Ludovic C. Dormegny-Jeanjean (Icube, Institut de Physique Biologique & Hôpitaux Universitaires de Strasbourg), as well as to Dr Michel Berg (President & CEO Axilum Robotics SAS) for organizing a Cobot demonstration and to all the speakers who kindly agreed to give a talk during this event.
